Issue Position

Joe believes that immigration reform begins with securing the borders and enforcing our laws. Florida has an estimated 850,000 illegal immigrants within its borders; we can no longer afford the continuous influx of illegal immigrants that enter our state. A secure border is of utmost importance to ensure both our economic prosperity and security. As our next State Representative, Joe will oppose legislation that rewards illegal immigrants with amnesty and punish those that have come to our country legally, by supporting legislation that:

Requires state agencies and contractors to use E-Verify, a computer program that checks whether a prospective employee is a legal resident;

Opposes so-called "sanctuary cities", where law enforcement agencies are discouraged from working with federal immigration officials
